Markus Krause has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector, with a strong focus on Risk Management and Finance. His background is rooted in his early experience at Citibank and GE Consumer Finance. 

Over the past 20 years, his focus has been on the CEE/SEE region, working for UniCredit Group, where he covered more than 10 countries with a strong focus on Strategic and Regulatory Risk Management. He later held Management Board roles at Sberbank Europe as CRO and at Addiko Bank as CRO/CFO, focusing mainly on Consumer Lending and Small Business Banking. Since 2021, he has been active as an advisor in the financial industry. 

Team spirit, establishing a strong risk management culture within the organisation, and a drive for change are among his core principles, alongside his key values – integrity and transparency. 

Markus is a father of a son and a daughter and enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, photography, and watching soccer matches.
